The first Buddhist monastery of
the Dharmanyuthi sect in Northeastern Thailand, it
is situated on the bank of the Mun River not far from
the town center. Initiated in 1853 with a royal donation
by King Rama 4, its principal image is the Phra Sapphanyu
Chao which is greatly revered by locals and visitors
alike. There is a Thai-Chinese-European style ordination
hall, which houses the principal serene Buddha image
of the temple.
